Introduction

This section discusses the options a User will have to display a map on the PPI background.

Background Display

Open

Display Background Image: Select this to display your own background image, such as a satellite image, on the PPI. Please refer to Adding a Background Image for more information.

Background Map Type: Select this to display Open Street Map or Google Map on the PPI. The map is integrated into the software, and does not require a separate upload, but does require an internet connection. Please refer to Displaying a Map for more information.

Google Map Tile Type: This option is only visible if the Background Map Type is set to Google Map.

Map Cache Timeout: The number of days any map tiles explored within the PPI Open Street Map or Google Map are cashed and saved for. Whilst it is more efficient to have these map tiles saved (and therefore not require continually downloading them from the internet), the retention days must be limited so the map does update the cashed tiles at regular intervals.
