Overview

POIs are any significant geographical, man-made objects on and around an area or carriageway. Examples include road signs, public telephones etc.

Like radar, POIs can be sorted into groups.

Purpose

POIs have threefold purposes:

  1. It is important to insert POIs onto the PPI display map as a point of geographical reference, to aid with https://navtechradar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TUN/pages/789512711.

  2. POIs are one of the few displays features that are exported into a Situational Awareness Video to help with orientation and distance marking. For more information please see https://navtechradar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TUN/pages/200146995.
