Perimeter Properties

Perimeters have a set of properties that can be used control their appearance:

Name: The Name field allows you to rename the perimeter after creating it. There is no limit on length, and it is sensible to use a meaningful name.

Obstruction:  When enabled, the perimeter will be used in the calculation for determining what a radar can see. If disabled, the perimeter does not impede the radar.

Hidden:  This option physically hides the perimeter on the map and it will not be used for tracing. To amend this setting on a hidden area, you will need to select it from the object properties list.

Colour: This option displays a colour picker that will allow you to choose the display colour of the area. By default it is red.

Editing a Perimeter

Once a perimeter has been created, it can be edited.

To do this:

  1. Click the Edit button:

  2. Select the area either by selecting it from the Properties list or by clicking on the perimeter itself:

  3. In this mode, you can change the name of the perimeter, it’s relationship with the radar, alter the colour and decide whether it is hidden.

  4. To alter the shape of the perimeter, left-click one of the white points and drag it to a new location:

  5. You can also left-click on one of the translucent white dots to add an extra white node:

  6. To drag a perimeter around the map, hover your mouse over the perimeter until the curser changes from an open hand shape to a hand with a pointed finger, then hold down the Ctrl key and press the left mouse button to drag it around.

  7. If you are unhappy with the editing, you can click Cancel and this will undo the last changes.
