Web Planner Tool (Azure) Release Notes

These notes cover the new features and fixes released for each version of the Azure hosted Web Planner tool. The tool is used to help plan the selection of radar models and their location for a security project. Help on using the tool can be found hereWeb Planner Tool. • Added new tabs to dashboard:

  • Projects tab

  • User tab

  • Admin tab

• User tab allows the current user to:

  • Change username

  • Change password

  • Get User Registration Link

  • Logout

• Admin tab allows admins to:

  • View a list of users and their details which include:

    • Username

    • Group

    • Disable toggle (can be used to enable or disable users)

    • Date created (for users created before this update this will show Unknown since we never stored this information prior to this update)

    • Last login (for users who last logged in before this update this will also show as Unknown)

    • Transfer (allows an admin to delete a user and transfer all their projects to themself)

    • Delete (allows an admin to delete a user and all of their projects)

  • View how many expired documents are in the database and perform a purge of expired documents.

• User registration links are temporary links which allow anyone with access to the link, before it expires, to register a user.

  • When a normal user creates one, any users registered through the link will be able to see the original users non-private projects as well as anyone else registered through the link (within the same group).

  • Admin users are given an option on which group users will be registered under when using the link as well as setting longer expiry periods.

• Added project transfer button for admin accounts to transfer a project’s ownership to themselves.

• Added fill colour property to areas.

• Readonly scenarios now load to project position instead of Ardington.

• Traced radars no longer block drawing.

• Trace automatically updates once drawing is completed when drawing an obstruction.

• Traced polygons are now clickable and will select corresponding radar.

• Editing project now allows customer and application to be edited.

• Admins can no longer see private projects of other users.

• Area edit points now more visible.

• Fixed readonly scenarios not returning a valid link.

• Fixed drawing not cancelling correctly when pressing escape.

• Upgraded mongoose and mongodb to latest version to fix security vulnerabilities.

• Updated readme.

• Scenario/Project edit fields are now automatically populated with current values.

• Added better error reporting and notifications when an error occurs during database communication.

• Login form should now prompt to save credentials and will also offer to auto-populate with saved credentials.

• Read only page now has a footer and also shows a nicer error message when expired.

• Fixed drawing not resetting correctly when completing a shape which was causing future shapes to not save correctly as well as interaction bugs.

• Drawing is no longer blocked by clickable objects.

• Object forms now reset correctly which was causing scenarios not to save as objects with incorrect values were being created.

• Exported projects are now filtered correctly based on account.

• Trace now updates correctly when toggling google maps labels.

• Trace now resets correctly after clicking cancel.

• Upgraded all packages to more recent versions to fix a lot of deprecations and vulnerabilities.

• Reorganised code base to be more in line with standard code base structure for Angular projects.

• Separated components out of larger files for better code separation.

• Replaced google maps drawing API with a non-deprecated API which will still work after drawing is fully deprecated.

• All buttons related to scenario management are now on the top bar:

  • Export scenario moved beside edit scenario split button.

  • Get Read Only Link moved into split button dropdown.

• The button to toggle if a project is private or not has now been moved to the dashboard alongside other project management buttons.

• Private/Edit/Delete buttons on public projects are disabled for anyone who is not the original owner of the project.

• Ownership of copied projects is given to the user that copied them even if they weren’t the original owner of the project being copied.

• Footer is now visible on all pages.

• Moved home button off the map and onto the footer.

• Search filter for projects now correctly updates while typing.

• Added HDR282X radar model.

• Added the ability to add overlay images to the map.

• Added the ability to estimate radar coverage based on google maps elevation data.

• Added missing radar models.

• Added the ability to set radar opacity.

• Major code refactor aimed at improving stability and development speed.

• General UI improvements for better user experience.

• Object editor separated from object list panel for easier object property editing.

• Objects can now be selected while not in edit mode to view properties while not being able to edit them.

• Replaced perimeters with polylines and added an option to areas to mark them as perimeters.

• When creating areas and polylines, can now create a default shape instead of drawing.

• Trace now updates automatically while moving radars/areas/polylines around.

• Areas and polylines are now saved as json instead of using google maps encoding for better precision.

• Object editors have all been reorganised to be more consistent in layout and usage.

• Read-only scenarios now have label toggles to enable and disable Navtech/google labels.

• Home button now recentres on project home when no scenario selected instead of the centre of google maps.

• Can no longer save a radar with an empty name which was causing a freeze due to radars requiring a name.

• Various other fixes due to code refactor as different objects are no longer coupled causing strange behaviours.

• Fixed a bug where users could see projects not normally visible to them on the world map view.

• Added ability to add echodyne panels to the map.

• Added the ability to copy areas.

• Reintroduced the ability to change project status.

• Improved World View load times & behaviour.

• Improved dashboard responsiveness.

• Fixed various small bugs for that could occur when entering edit mode.

• Fixed help button link.

• Fixed POI Labels not appearing correctly.

• Fixed missing Navtech logo.

• Shapes now correctly show current stroke weight / stroke weights should be correctly set to original values when an item is unselected..

• Drop downs now correctly show current value when loaded.

• Selecting a Echodyne Panel from the objects list now correctly pans the map to the object.

• Added ability to create ‘Labels’ and ‘Points of Interest’ on the map.

• Radar label text changes are now reflected instantly on the map. Saving is still required to commit these changes.

• Radar labels are now shown as soon as a radar is created.

• Font sizes are now correctly loaded into the various editors and changes will be reflected immediately on the map without the need to save. Saving is still required to commit the changes.

• Radars are now created at the centre of the view on the map rather than the home position which could be off screen.

• Migrated Web Planner to Azure Hosting

  • Dockerised Application & Build Process.

  • Configured Continual Deployment on Team City servers.

• Pagination on the dashboard view is now processed server side.

• Fixed a race condition that could cause the World View to fail to load.

• Account registration endpoint is now secure.

• Cleaned up some presentation by adding some margins and ensuring elements don't overlap.
