Rule Areas
Introduction
Areas provides greater flexibility to decide where the rule is processed. By default all ClearWay™ rules are only active on their associated carriageway. This can be amended by lane or section as explained in the Sections and Lanes documentation. For a greater level of flexibility you can further control rule processing by using areas.

Area Configuration
The areas list will only show areas of type Alarm.
You cannot add or remove areas from this page. The list will show all Alarm areas which have been configured within the ClearWay™ software. To add an alarm area to this list you must create a new area in the normal way.
These areas can be used for 3 functions in relation to ClearWay™ rules:
Enable: This will include one or more areas for rule detection, ignoring queue suppression or alarm suppression.
It is important to note that you must enable an area for all actions. By default an enabled area with no other options selected will be used for exclusive rule processing. To enable ignoring of queues or alarm suppression you must still enable the rule and then you can select either of the other options.
Be aware that by only selecting Enabled, this will force the rule to only consider the selected areas, It will ignore all other sections and lanes outside these areas.
Ignore Queues: This will ensure that alarms triggered by this rule will not be suppressed in the selected areas for sections in queue.
Suppress Alarms: This will suppress all alarms for this rule in the selected areas.
