Tracker 4.0.1.84 Release Notes
New Features
Initial Release of Witness 4.0 AdvanceGuard®
Witness 4.0 is a ground-up re-design of the AdvanceGuard® security solution to provide a fully redundant, scalable system with enhanced detection performance and improved reporting capabilities.
The key new features and improvements are:
Re-developed to support a highly flexible modular design with built-in licencing so customers can select the features they need and new options and capabilities can be added with ease.
Fully distributed and scalable architecture which allows a single installation to support many radar and work over large areas.
Incorporates secure, lightweight, real-time communications ensuring the system that can scale to support large sites yet still detect and report incidents without delay.
Designed from the outset to support full redundancy across the entire software application. The system is designed to self-heal automatically ensuring minimal downtime.
Improved configuration and setup making it quicker and easier to setup and commission sites.
New, cleaner and more intuitive user interface (UI) designed for to handle complex security configuration and operation with ease.
A simple 2-step wizard allows you to configure detection and tracking across the whole site.
All system entities can be easily organised in to custom folders so you can easily find and identify configuration objects.
The UI is based on a configurable panel system, allowing users to re-organise the interface to suit their requirements.
New UI layer system allows GIS items to be organised onto different layers which can be shown or hidden based on individual user requirements. This provides the ability for different operators to see only the parts of the site which are of interest to them. On an airfield, for example, a security team might be only interested in perimeter alarm zones but the ops team might be more focused on the runway and taxiways.
Context help system that links directly to online documentation allowing users to navigate directly to the required content.
Improved detection capabilities and performance:
Easily add or remove tracking channels so the system can be configured for specific target detection and tracking per channel. Adding multiple trackers with different priorities, all looking for targets on the same site offers a level of performance no other equivalent radar system can match.
Easily add global exclusion zones without having to configure individual radars.
When utilising the powerful, per area sensitivity settings, you can now control all radar settings for a selected area through a simple configuration dialog - you no longer have to find and edit each radar in turn to optimise the settings for a selected area.
Comprehensive user-based configuration system allowing the system to be adapted for specific user roles within a site.
UI Layers can be hidden or shown per user.
All key UI settings are configurable per user, allowing operators to choose their own look and feel.
User settings are centralised, so regardless of which PC a user logins from, they will always get their own customised settings.
Completely revamped camera control offering more intelligent tracking and easier configuration.
Camera configuration is now manufacturer and model specific. This enables the system to share common manufacturer attributes across a model range yet still provide model specific settings to optimise the capability of each camera.
ONVIF integration has been greatly improved and now supports full two way communication for both configuration and control. This enables more accurate telemetry control, one-click setup of video streams and provides the ability to work with any of the available camera profiles.
Camera control is more intelligent:
Cameras tasked to follow a target will now actively check for higher priority targets even before they have finished their configured follow time.
Camera control will actively avoid sending position updates if we can detect the camera is still moving from a previous command - this results in smoother and more natural control.
Camera control will automatically adjust zoom based on what the track is doing or what type of movement the camera has been tasked to perform. For example when performing a large pan, the magnification is automatically reduced so the operator can still watch the video without losing context.
In addition, a camera will automatically pull back the zoom when a track is dropped, giving the operator the ability to identify the target visually.
New GIS interface supporting multiple monitors allowing operators independent views of sites making it easy for a single operator to monitor large sites.
Multiple GIS windows with independent views and settings.
Additional GIS windows support MJPEG video encoding enabling VMS systems to record the GIS view alongside the camera streams.
Additional GIS windows have over-watch features so they can track the primary display, but at different zoom levels or they can track the movement of a specific camera giving a detailed view of a targets location whilst the primary display maintains an overview of the entire site.
Window configuration is stored per user, allowing the UI to be customised for specific roles.
Video viewers can now be docked like any other window giving the operator the ability to create a rich user interfaces with a mixture of map and video views
New reporting and data analysis capabilities, including the ability to do deep-dives on alarms to explore break counts and directly related track data.
Improved target classification system which now includes the ability to analyse and visually edit the classification in real-time as well as compare the performance of individual classification models.
Automated configuration backup facility along with the ability to restore a full system setup via the client application.
Upgrading from Version 3
Due to the underlying improvements in the V4 it is not possible to directly upgrade from V3. However there is a migration utility that will import an existing V3 configuration into a V4 installation. This will import most objects but not all and it relies on the V3 configuration being from the latest V3 build. Details on the import utility can be found here.
