Introduction
This guide covers all the different features and facilities available in Witness for integration with third party software and equipment. Some plugins are specific to the product, for example ICD-006 and 007 are both dedicated to ClearWay™, whilst others, like ICD-001, can work in all products.
Each plugin acts as an interface between Witness and 3rd party systems. Typically they expose core data and events, such as alarms and health status. Each plugin adopts its own protocol or communication mechanism to support common standards or proprietary connections to external systems.
The Witness architecture allows the rapid development of new plugins to support integration with almost any Video Management System (VMS) or Security Management System (SMS) as long as they support some form of external link or SDK.
