Monitoring Tracks

Introduction

During operation there could be peak periods when many tracks are shown moving within the site map as people and vehicles are identified and monitored. Accordingly, each detected object is listed within the Tracks tab of the selection panel.

White: Default. Given tracks can be interacted with directly on the PPI Map, white tracks are available for selection. Click with a cursor to select.

Blue: Coasting Coasting Tracks

Pink: Selected. A selected pink track will remain on the PPI Map until deselected, even if the target the track represented is no longer being tracked.

Red: A track with Threat status/severity.

Orange: A track with Warning status/severity.

Green: A track with Friend status/severity.

Light Sea Green: Whilst going through reclassification. This is an optional setting in Tracks.

Track Trail: A temporary 'trail' of previous sightings behind the track on the PPI Map.

Track Label: The numeric track ID.

Selecting a Live Track

To select a track you can simply click on the track within the PPI Map. The track will change colour to indicate it has been selected, the PPI Map will also display the trail of the track, and the Selected Track Mini Control will be displayed on the top right of the display:

To deselect a track, you can use the Clear Selected Track icon on the Selected Track Mini Control (outlined in pink) or simply select the track a second time.

Selected Live Track Mini Control

Track ID: A number assigned to each track.

Classification: Displays which type of entity is being tracked; e.g. Small Vehicle.

Speed and Direction: The speed of the track in metres per second, and the direction of the track in degrees.

Duration: The length of time that the track has been recorded.

Reset Track Severity: This will reset the track to an Unknown severity. This will then re-evaluate the track through theRules.

Change Current Track Severity to Friend: Select this option to change the severity to Friend. This will stop the track being processed by the Rules.

Change Current Track Severity to Warning: Select this option to change the severity to Warning.

Change Current Track Severity to Threat: Select this option to change the severity to Threat.

Set Tag Preset: This will allow you to select one of the pre-configured tags to aid identifying and analysing tracks during playback at a later date. Please navigate to Tag Presets | Using Tag Presets for more information.

Locate Track: This focuses the PPI Display on the track location.

The Locate option on the track panel will centre the track in the display and zoom in. The track will be kept in the centre of the display, so as it moves the map will move with it. To stop the display following the track the operator simply needs to deselect the track.

Follow / Latch Target: This will task a camera to follow the target (latching).

A short-cut for latching a target without opening the Selected Track Mini Control is to right-click the target.

Show Track Details: This will open the Track Details window.

Clear Selected Track: Select this to clear the selected track, and close the Selected Tracks panel.

Track Details - Live

If you click on the Show Track Details icon (highlighted in pink) on the Selected Track Mini Control, the live Track Details screen will be displayed:

This displays information regarding the track including the speed of the track and the size of the target. For more information please refer to Live Tracks | Track Details.

Track Details - Selected But Not Live

Once a selected track is no longer live, when clicking on the Show Track History icon the Retained Track Details panel will be displayed:

The retained Track Details panel contains a lot of information, and is explained in more depth in AdvanceGuard® Track Queries | Track Details Panel.

Selected But Not Live Mini Control

When a Live Selected Track Mini Control has been opened, and is left open until the track has been deleted by the system, the Mini Control will remain open. It subtly changes though:

Locate: This focuses the PPI Display on the track location, and follows it’s journey whilst in range.

Clear Selected Track: Select this to clear the selected (but not live track) and close the Mini Control.

Show Track History: Select this to show the track’s pathway on the PPI Map.

Show Track History Details: This will display the Retained Track Details panel.

Selecting a Retained Track

If Track Retention has been enabled, tracks that trigger alarms are retained for a temporary period of time, and can be located on the PPI Map as a transparent track icon, and examined in this time period. The image below shows a live track (selected and in pink) and four other retained tracks, which are more transparent in appearance:

These four tracks can also be selected from the Retained Tracks tab, as shown above.

In the example below a track has been selected by clicking on the Locate icon:

This then displays the trail of the track and the Selected Track Mini Control.

Retained Track Mini Control

The Retained Track Mini Control has different options to the Live Track Mini Control:

Locate: This focuses the PPI Display on the track location, and follows it’s journey whilst in range.

Remove Selected Track: Select this to clear the selected track, and close the Selected Tracks Mini Control.

Show Track History: Select this to show the track’s pathway on the PPI Map.

Show Track History Details: This will display the Retained Track Details panel.
