System Modes

Introduction

System Modes can be used to create a global settings change with a simple click of a button. This can include changing the behaviour of cameras, enabling and disabling alarm zones or hiding and showing objects on map. Any action available within the rule editor can be trigged by a system mode change.

Changing Modes

Operators, if they have the correct permissions, can change a mode by the using the System Mode button in the main window title bar.

  1. Select the System Mode button in the main application title bar. The button will display the name of the currently selected profile i.e. Default.

     

  2. Use the System Mode drop down to select a new mode:

     

  3. Select OK to save, and change modes.

You will see a notification informing you the mode has changed and the mode name will name be displayed on the Mode button

Adding a New Mode

By default, there is only one System Mode: the Default mode.

To add a new mode:

  1. Go to System Menu>Settings>System Settings>System Mode. 

  2. In Edit mode, select the button:

     

  3. The Add System Mode window will open.

  4. Enter the Name and ID of your new mode and select OK.

     

  5. The new mode will appear in the System Mode table:

     

  6. Select Save. Currently, it will be as blank as a Default mode, so you must next configure the new mode.

     

  7. Select Edit and highlighting the new mode will enable the User Groups field, and the user can select which user group or groups can change to the new mode:

     

  8. Select Save to save the configuration.
