Schedules

Introduction

This is the guide to creating scheduled events in Witness. These schedules apply to ClearWayā„¢, Sea360Ā® and AdvanceGuardĀ®, however the scheduling options may differ from one product to another.

A pre-defined set of tasks can be triggered to run on demand or based on a schedule. Notifications will be sent to all user interfaces when scheduled tasks are run and appropriate log entries will be recorded in the system log.

System Event Scheduler

The System Event Scheduler isĀ designed to trigger system events or run regular tasks based on a configured schedule.

Available Tasks

Common

Backup: Backing up system configuration to the database.Ā This task gives you the option to backup alarms as well as the configuration.

Change System Profile:Ā Switching from one system profile to another. This task gives you the option to select the profile you want to apply.

Note this is a one-way operation so you will need to schedule another task if you want to revert the profile at a later time.

Change Camera Automatic White Light:Ā Switches the white light automatic setting on and off for cameras that support it. Once activated, most cameras with automatic white lights will switch them when the camera is moved. Typical use of this function is to switch the automatic mode during the night and off during the day.

Database Recording Mode Change: This will schedule a change in the type of tracks to record, which have previously been configured in the Track Recorder within Settings. Please refer to Track Recorder | Track Recorder for more information.

Export Tracks: This will allow you to regularly schedule the export of tracks whereby you can limit the number of tracks exported, and select only those which are over a certain age.

Capture Clutter Floor: Saves the clutter map at the point the task is run for use as a clutter floor on one or more radar. This task gives you the option to select which radars you want to target. Please refer to Contour Area which covers the Clutter Map and the Clutter Floor.

Capture Radar Logs: This allows you to schedule capturing radar logs using a filter to select from the available radar groups and another to select single, multiple or all of the radar within that group. The logs are collated at the Track Engines responsible for each of the radar. They are stored in the normal file logging location. These logs include the radar and the onboard tracker, if installed.

ClearWayā„¢

Switch Carriageway Profile: Switching a particular carriageway from one carriageway profile to another. This task gives you the option to select the carriageway and the carriageway profile you want to apply.

Creating a Schedule

As part of creating a task you need to set a schedule. The schedule options are as follows:

Schedule Name: The name of the event you are scheduling.

Description: A description of the event/task.

Begin/End Date: The day the scheduled event(s) will start, and the day they will end. The start date is relevant for all schedules, including Run Once, but the end date is only relevant for repeating tasks.

Start/Finish Time:Ā The time the scheduled event(s) will start, and the time they will end.Ā The start time is relevant for all schedules, including Run Once, but the end time is only relevant for repeating tasks.

Operation:Ā Selects whether the schedule is active inside the scheduled times and dates or outside:

Inside: The event takes place inside of the scheduled time slot.

Outside: The event takes place outside of the scheduled time slot.

A schedule is considered to be active when the current time falls within the configured times and dates if the Operation is Inside. The schedule is considered to be active if the current time falls outside the configured times and dates and the Operation is Outside.

Repeat: Whether you want to repeat the scheduled task, and how often.

Once: The task will only be run once when the schedule becomes active.

Daily: The task will run once a day when the schedule becomes active.

Weekly: The task will be run on the selected days of the week when the schedule becomes active.

Monthly: The task will be run on the selected days of the month when the schedule become active.

Enabled: To enable or disable the schedule. The enables you to keep the event but suspend it until its needed.
