Using the Milestone Features
This document provides an example usage of the Milestone Plugin. Please check the Using the Milestone Plugin document on how to install and configure the Milestone Plugin.

On this page:
Reviewing Alarms
To view Live Alarms, select "Live" workspace from Milestone → Witness Alarms view.
On starting the Milestone client, this is the default view. You can change this behaviour in the Witness Plugin Settings from Milestone Options.
On clicking the alarm, images from cameras associated with the alarm will be displayed.
Â
Â
You can also review past alarms from the Playback workspace → Witness Alarms view.
If a Live alarm is selected here, the system will playback the recording of the alarm from when the alarm started optionally with additional playback time depending on configured buffer period.
You can also playback older alarms by selecting it from the Search for Alarm list.
Note: you will not be able to find any Alarms or recordings older than your Milestone alarm and video retention period.
Â
Playback from Sentinel
We can also trigger Playbacks on Milestone Clients from a Sentinel Client.
Within the Incident Results tab in Sentinel bottom panel, we can search for and select an Alarm incident. Selecting "VMS Playback" button will request any open Milestone client on the same computer (or other compatible device) to playback the selected Alarm. If your device cannot display both the Sentinel and Milestone Client at the same time, you will need to ensure that the Milestone client is brought to the screen so that you can see the results.
Controlling a Camera from Milestone Client
Witness will control configured PTZ cameras to point at alarm tracks as detected by the radar. If a Milestone Operator wishes, they can also take manual control of the camera. This is done through the Manual Control button available on all camera views  on the toolbar ribbon. If your Camera View is small and does not have sufficient space for all icons, the Manual Control command will appear under "More".
A Milestone Client is allowed to set 1 camera in Manual Control mode. The camera being manually controlled will display the "Manually Controlled" overlay text.
Manually controlled cameras cannot be used to track alarms and thus will not appear on alarm playbacks. However they can be selected for playback manually in the normal manner within Milestone.
