Orca Tracker 4.12.0.329 Release Notes - NavOS 32-Bit Tracker 4.12.0.329 Release Notes - NavOS 64-Bit Tracker 4.12.0.329 Release Notes

New Features

  • TUN-6388 - Added new health check that monitors track output from each radar to identify any that have dropped to zero whilst other radar continue to generate tracks. Details on the feature can be found here https://navtechradar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TUN/pages/783745334/Track+Engine+Configuration#ClearWay%E2%84%A2-Tracking-Performance-Health.

  • TUN-6397 - Added new OpenWeather plugin that checks the online service to analyse the weather state from the nearest weather station to the configured ClearWay™ site. The plugin supports the ability to change tracking performance profiles in response to changes in weather state. Document can be found here OpenWeather Map Plugin.

  • TUN-6480 - MongoDb database authentication is now supported. This allows database access to be secured with a username and password. Both the database and ClearWay™ must be configured correctly to support authentication. Full instructions on implementing this feature can be found here Database Authentication. Authentication is not enabled by default, so this version will behave like all previous versions.

  • TUN-6485 - The underlying .NET framework has been updated to the latest .NET 8 release. This platform offers both security and performance enhancements. This new framework is an evolution of .NET 6 which was introduced in version 4.12. There are no changes to the pre-requisites because these are all included with the normal installation / upgrade.

  • TUN-6161 - The SightLogix 533-030 camera has now been integrated. Currently this is based on experimental camera firmware so is not production ready.

Improvements

  • TUN-6377 - Improved exception logging for the tracker upgrade manager to include the IP address of the device being upgraded.

  • TUN-6239 - Improved manual radar log capture UI notification to indicate if a capture was unsuccessful on any given radar.

  • TUN-6383 - The Web Client UI now supports a splitter to enable users to adjust the relative space allocated to both the schematic and the bottom information panel.

  • TUN-6422 - When using the OpenWeather service plugin, the current weather state, wind speed, temperature and weather station location will be displayed in the plugin configuration panel.

  • TUN-6423 - When using a weather service plugin, there is now a user option available to display the current weather state and temperature in the application’s main title bar.

  • TUN-6445 - Improved the alarm categories so the tracker health performance alarm message is more meaningful.

  • TUN-6447 - Security has been improved on the Web Client UI to ensure it can’t be opened in an iFrame. This prevents scenarios where the client can be inserted into another application / site.

  • TUN-6476 - Security has been improved on the Web Client web server and on the application inter-process communications. All certificates have been updated to use the latest, more secure cryptographic hashing algorithms, Where available all connections will use TLS1.3 but no lower than TLS1.2.

  • TUN-6478 - Security has been improved on the Web Client UI to prevent the browser remembering previous usernames in the login dialog. This will forces users to always manually enter their username and password.

  • TUN-6480 - Updated MongoDb to version 4.4.28. This version supports improvements to replication including a more efficient synchronisation method and a recovery mechanism that allows initial synchronisations to resume in the event of a minor network interruption.

  • TUN-6485 - Security has been improved by updating all dependent packages which at the point of release has resolved all known vulnerabilities in these dependencies. This has also brought all the packages inline with the latest .NET 8 technology stack.

Fixes

  • TUN-6396 - Fixed an issue with the tracking area list in the channel which was allowing multiple entries to be selected and removed which resulted in an exception. The logic has been changed to only allow a single entry to be removed at a time.

  • TUN-6411 - Fixed an issue where an incorrectly formatted CSV file caused the radar import feature to lock up.

  • TUN-6464 - Fixed issue manipulating lane nodes when stacking lanes on top of one another on the carriageway. The top node can now always be manipulated.

  • TUN-6509 - Fixed the Track Correlation query to ensure it works with both lost and stale tracks. This overcomes issues when track correlation is being used.

  • Fixed the log rotate script which is installed as a Windows Scheduler Task on all database servers. This now works as expected and also supports database authentication. Due to complications with updating the previous script, this updated version will install as a new task and the old task will be removed. Please refer to the Database Authentication for further information on how to implement authorisation with this scheduled task.

  • Fixed the process checker for Helvellyn - this now correctly enforces the restriction that only a single UI can be run on the same physical system even if multiple users are logged in concurrently.

  • This version has been developed using the .NET 8 technology stack which is now a mandatory pre-requisite for the entire software suite.

  • This version includes a later version of the MongoDb server, however it becomes EOL February 2024. Further releases will be made available imminently with newer database servers that are all currently supported. Details for upgrading will be included in the release notes for these new versions.

  • Implementing MongoDb authentication is a manual process but supported with the Witness Utility to make the process easier. Full documentation on the steps required to implement authorisation can be found here Database Authentication.

Version 4.4.x of MongoDb requires the Visual Studio 2019 x64 C++ redistributable. The recommended pre-requisites for ClearWay™ 4.11 and newer included the Visual Studio 2015-2019 x64 combined redistributable, so existing installations should already have the correct support. However, we recommend that this is checked before installing this version. Note that later versions of the MongoDb server will require the Visual Studio 2022 redistributable so the recommended package is now Visual Studio 2015-2022 x64. This package will support all versions of the database for all releases of ClearWay™ version 4.x and is now the recommended pre-requisites Software Prerequisites.

  • The applications now support cross-platform deployment on Windows and Linux, however none of the applications have been tested on Linux and currently there is no deployment mechanism other than the Windows installer. Full Linux support for the back-end services is planned for future releases.

  • Key underlying technology has also been upgraded or replaced to ensure the platform can support new features such as the latest Mobile Client. Despite extensive testing, this increases the risk when upgrading from older versions. It is recommended that existing installations are upgraded to the latest version of 4.11 before upgrading to 4.12.

  • Due to the changes in the FA filters for direction change and times we recommend that the FA models are re-created after upgrade. Be aware that the real time FA scores may give slightly different results based on improved models.

  • Following the change to honour the enabled state of areas used for queue and alarm suppression, all areas should be checked to ensure the Enabled setting matches the desired state.

  • The TA update will change the default aggregate size measurement to the minimum for new installations but will retain the use of average size for upgrades.

  • This version includes a new code signing certificate and therefore requires a new root certificate. This is handled automatically on systems with an internet connection but the root certificate must be installed manually on systems without internet connectivity. Instructions can be found here.
