Radar Connectors and Cable Parts - Gen1 models
Network Connection - Gen1 models
Within the shroud for the network cable connection, there is a white/grey rubber ring. It is this part that creates the watertight seal when the connector is secured. Be sure to check that this seal is in place before connecting a cable to any radar. The radar network connector can be released from the radar body by rotating the outer ring anticlockwise.
Note that some CIR radar models are produced with cast metal variants of the RJ45 connection/shroud parts in line with specific customer and application demands. The metal and plastic connector and receptacle parts are dimensionally equivalent. The drawing below details the cast metal connector part - Navtech Code: CON0183_METAL and manufacturer code: CONEC-150284
Power Connection - Gen1 models
The white arrow on the plug should be aligned with the white stripe on the socket to make a connection, and the plug collar then rotated in the direction of the green arrow.
The radar power connector can be removed by gently rotating the collar anticlockwise, in the direction of the white arrow, by around 20 degrees, and then gently prising the connector away from the radar. To reconnect the connector, push it gently home in to the socket, and then when it is fully inserted, rotate the locking collar clockwise by approximately 20 degrees. The connector is keyed and can only fit in the correct orientation – which is when the white arrow on the plug aligns with the white stripe on the socket.
Note that the power connector on the radar body does not allow water ingress in either connected, or unconnected states, but the network connector must be sealed with the captive weather-cap if a radar is to be left unconnected, exposed to the weather. Neither the radar power lead connector nor the radar’s network lead are protected from water when unconnected.
Power Connection - Gen2 models
Radars fitted with ruggedised D38999 connectors (Mil. Spec.) are supplied with a 5m power cable as illustrated below. Other cable lengths are available to special order - contact Navtech Radar for details.
Network Connection - Gen2 models

Special Variant - M12 power connection
Note that in line with specific customer requirements, some Navtech Radar CIR sensors are fitted with metal M12 “process” connectors in place of the power connector parts described above.
Radars built to special customer order with an alternate M12 power connector are supplied with a 5m power lead, part number WIR0104 WIR0139, and the power connection arrangement of these special variants are as per the drawing attached below.
Special Variant - M12 X-Code Network Connection
Note that in line with specific customer requirements, some Navtech Radar CIR sensors are fitted with metal M12 X-Code connectors in place of the network connection described above.
Radars built to special customer order with an alternate M12 network connection are supplied with a 5m network/data lead, part number WIR0124, and the pin assignment of this cable is as per the drawing attached below.
Cables supplied are terminated with “standard” latching RJ45 connector for connection to customer devices.
