Berthing manoeuvres next to a Jetty/Pier
The radar data below was collected from a CIR radar mounted on a 6.2m length vessel that completed two berthing manoeuvres alongside a concrete Jetty.
Alongside the raw radar data, GPS data in NMEA format was collected. Camera footage from an onboard GoPro was also collected. Both are provided below.
The clear image that can be built up from radar data, as shown below, demonstrates how Navtech sensors could be used in autonomous berthing systems on a range of vessels.
Playing back the radar data as a TCP stream is done using using the playback utility.
