Introduction

The sections discusses the configuration of the PPI background appearance to display a map.

The process of adding a Detection Area can be aided by Displaying a Map, or uploading a Background Image.

On this page:

Background Map

  1. This can be accessed via the User Details Screen.

  2. In the User Details window, select the Background Display tab. Enable the Edit button, then select the desired map from the drop down menu.

There are two options:

  • Open Street Map

  • Google Map

Open Street Map

Open Street Map is a map of the world, and is free to use under an open license.

  • Map Cache Timeout setting is set to 0 by default but can be amended.


Google Map

Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360° interactive panoramic views of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions, and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bicycle and air (in beta), or public transportation.

The options for Google Map are as follows:

  • Default

  • Terrain

  • Altered Roadmap

  • Satellite Only

  • Terrain Only

  • Hybrid

Map Cache Timeout setting is set to 0 by default but can be amended.

Note that using Google Map requires an internet connection.

3. Once you have chosen the desired Background Map, select Save to save the Map Setting.
