This page discusses how to open and utilise the Quick Commands Menu and Selection Menu.

The Quick Commands Menu and the Selection Menu are integrated into the PPI, and directly configure the Live display.

There are two aspects to the Quick Commands radial menu:

  • Creating new entities.

  • Viewing Quick Reports of track histories.

The Quick Commands Menu is accessed by a long right click on the PPI.

The Selection Menu is accessed by a long left click on the PPI.

The New function enables the creation of a new entity located in the same position as the long right click. For example:

1. Ensure the Config function is enabled.

2. Long right click on the PPI Display where the new entity will be placed.

3. Select New, then choose an entity.

4. After selecting the entity the appropriate wizard dialog will open and can be completed as if creating a new item from the normal configuration menu. The example illustrated here will open the Breach Line wizard.

Note that the new entity will created at the centre of the quick menu. As with all items on the main display it can be moved later if required.

This feature allows the operator to lock a specific camera at selected point on the map. The follow conditions apply:

  • The camera can be selected and then locked

  • You can select lock and then select a camera (assuming no camera was previously selected)

  • Once locked, the camera will obey the calibrated zoom settings for the location selected

  • Once locked, the camera will ignore all subsequent manual commands, unless the camera is selected

  • The camera will still respond to automatic tracking if it is required, assuming the camera is configured for automatic operation. After automatic tracking, the camera will return home, it will not return to the lock position

To set the lock position:

1. Long right click on the PPI where you want to lock the camera.

2. Select Lock Camera View, then the appropriate camera.

3. The the camera will now be locked on the selected position.

To manually unlock a camera you must select it and move it to another position, it will then follow the normal process of returning home after the configured dwell time.

Quick Reports are a way of quickly displaying track histories on the PPI without having to leave the Live tab to perform a Playback Query. There are two types of Quick Report:

Recent Tracks: All tracks will be displayed that were detected in the selected period

Recent Alarm Tracks: All tracks that caused or contributed to an alarm in the selected time period will be displayed

A Recent Tracks Quick Report will display all recent track histories as pathways on the PPI in the specified time period. For example:

1. Long right click on the PPI.

2. Select Recent Tracks, and then a time period - always measured from the present, e.g. 5 minutes ago.

3. The track pathways will appear on the PPI display. Ctrl+Click to view individual Track Details.

4. Open the Quick Commands Menu and select Clear to remove the report from the PPI.

The time periods displayed as options for the Quick Reports can be configured in Settings: Quick Reports.

A Recent Alarm Tracks Quick Report will display recent alarm track histories as pathways on the PPI in the specified time period. For example:

1. Long right click on the PPI.

2. Select Recent Alarm Tracks, and then a time period - always measured from the present, e.g. 1 day ago etc.

3. The alarm track pathways will appear on the PPI display. Ctrl+Click to view individual Track Details.

4. Open the Quick Commands Menu and select Clear to remove the report from the PPI.

The benefit of examining Quick Reports of previous alarm tracks on the Live tab is that they can be compared to current alarm tracks in real time.

Under the Live and Playback tabs, it is possible to open a selection menu, in order to specify which aspect of the PPI you wish to select. This is useful when it comes to the highway, where several entities are overlaid and can be difficult to individually separate. The selection menu can be accessed by:

1. Hovering the mouse pointer over a highway, and then make a long left click.

2. The Selection Menu will appear:

3. Click on any one of the options to highlight/select anyone of those entities for review or configuration.
