Introduction

This page covers the installation and configuration of the NZTA (New Zealand Transport Agency) plugin which enables ClearWay™ to output traffic counting data.

Contents

Overview

Witness supports integration with many different types of external systems through the use of plugins.

The NZTA Plugin passes traffic statistics from ClearWay™ to the New Zealand Transport Agency traffic monitoring system, to aid traffic analysis.

The plugin can be selected during setup and will automatically be installed in the correct location.

The TMS Manual - Classifier and Counter Data Format Specification describes the structure for the transmission of NZTA messages, and is available to those with login permission from http://www.nzta.govt.nz.

Prerequisites

The plugin relies on using the Traffic Analysis output so this needs to have been enabled and configured on the carriageways that require traffic analysis. Please refer to Traffic Analysis Plugin for more information.

Installing the NZTA Plugin

When installing ClearWay™, in the Choose Components page of the ClearWay™ Setup wizard, open Integration Plugin options and select NZTA:

Configuring the NZTA Plugin in ClearWay™

When the plugin is installed and licensed, a plugin configuration with default settings is automatically generated. The settings can be viewed and edited by enabling the Config Function, then selecting the plugin in Integration Configurations, within the Configuration Tree. Configuration settings will then be available in the Configuration Panel.

NZTA Plugin Fields

Plugin Enabled: Select to enable the NZTA Plugin.

Name: The NZTA Plugin name.

Plugin Outputs

The plugin takes data from ClearWay™ and creates a file here: C:\ProgramData\Navtech\Logs\NZTA

The files are standard text and are intended to hold a month’s worth of data. Witness automatically deletes such files which are older than 2 months.
