2.5 dismantle the replacement direct drive assy: 

a) remove the maxon motor board from the main board in the base 

b) remove the new direct drive motor assy from the packaging and check for damage 

b) remove and discard the 3 bolts securing the rotor assy (warning magnets) and place the rotor back into the foam tray. Take care not to place the rotor assy near any metal which may dislodge the magnets or metal fragments which may get stuck to the magnets and cause abnormal behaviour. Do we need method to check magnets if one is dislodged? 

c) remove and discard the 4 screws securing the motor board using a M2.5mm allen key, set the motor board speed then place the motor board into the ESD protective bag. Care point on motor board handling. 

Now follow section 3 Main Assembly to Radar Base but leave out section 3.2. Ensure not to loosen pillars when unscrewing 5 drive assembly bolts by using a 10mm spanner to hold them.
