HDR200 & HDR300 - Water and Dust Ingress Protection

NAVTECH radars are designed to meet IP67 Ingress Protection Rating, however this protection is dependent on the way the radar is stored and installed.

Damage resulting from the Ingress of water and or dust will not be covered by our warranty if these instructions have not been adhered to.

Sealing of the RJ45 (Ethernet) connector

The RJ45 connector on the radar unit only meets the IP67 standard when either:

a)  The cap cover and its gasket (inside the cap) is properly fitted to the base connector.

Or

b)  The RJ45 cable is fitted, with the RJ field plug shroud assembly and seal, supplied with the radar.

Network cable with field shroud fitted

Fit the RJ field plug according to the instructions on the plug packaging ensuring that the orientation is set to “Code A”.

Vent Plug

HDR radars are shipped with a breathable vent plug fitted.

Please do not remove the vent plug. The vent plug allows for differences in air pressure during shipment, particularly if we ship by air freight, and while on site during normal operation.
