Introduction

The Static Sensor Wizard will create a rule that generates an alarm and tasks a camera if a static sensor is triggered through an external input.

Contents

Configuring the Wizard

1. Choose the Static Sensor Rule type.

2. Select a New Static Sensor (in green) or an existing Static Sensor (in white).

3. Here a New Static Sensor has been selected. This will automatically create a new static sensor entitled “New Static Sensor” which can be immediately moved to the desired location on the map. The sensor is created under the folder Static Sensors in the configuration tree.

4. Move the sensor to the desired location before moving onto the next step.

The static sensor will be created behind the wizard dialog so remember to move the dialog to one side in order to select and move the static sensor.

5. Here you can configure the New Rule. Below are the default settings, and if not changed at this point they can be amended at a later date by editing the rule.

This is the resulting Static Sensor Rule: -

Actions

  • Alarm: This will sound an alarm if the Static Sensor is triggered. The Priority and Severity of the Sensor can also be configured; for example, in a highly sensitive area then you may want the highest threat level to be set.

  • Camera: This will set a Camera to keep following the target after the condition clears.
