Introduction

A Witness system can control many individual Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras. In order to manage potentially large numbers of devices, each individual camera is made to be a member of a camera group. The number of cameras is unlimited and is in no way related to the number of radars.

Practically, there is a maximum number that the Camera Controller can sensibly control and this is largely dependent on how busy each of the cameras will be. For planning purposes we would recommend working on a maximum of 80 cameras. Other factors do apply, such as the bandwidth and speed required for telemetry and the bandwidth required for the video feeds.
