This page covers the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application PPI. Here you will be able to connect to view the live data and to edit the Alarm Areas.

The Area Edit Controls allow you to edit one area at a time.

Edit: Select the Edit icon to amend the area settings.

Save: Click the Save button to save your changes to the application.

Cancel: Click the Cancel button to discard any changes.

The Area Edit Controls only appear for the selected area. If the area is not on the PPI, you will need to select it via the area tab on the Area Rule Configuration section of the Settings page.

Note

Only one area can be edited at a time. If an area is selected while another area is in edit mode, then the edit icons won't appear until you save or cancel the current edit.

To edit an area:

  1. To select an area you can click on the area on the PPI, or by selecting the area tab on the Area Rule Configuration section of the Settings page.

  2. Click the Edit icon:

  3. The outline of the area in edit mode will display green circular Area Points and square purple Nodes:

  4. You can then move the Points using the mouse by left clicking and dragging them to create the desired shape (this will also update the X and Y coordinates in the Settings tab):

  5. To add a an Area Point right mouse click on a Node. A new area Area Point will appear with two new Nodes (in purple) either side:

  6. You can then drag the new point to the desired location.

  7. To remove a Point, right mouse click on an area Point. The point will be removed and the area will redraw appropriately.

  8. Note: There is validation, so changing a point to an invalid point, the system will not change the bearing, but it will change the radius.

  9. Once you are happy with the desired area shape click the Save icon:

  10. Alternatively, if you wish to cancel your amendments click the Cancel icon:

  11. Alternatively, you can edit each of the points by changing their X and Y coordinates within the Area Rule Configuration section of the Settings tab:

Data Points (any peaks above threshold values) are shown as red dots on the PPI.

Pause / Play

The live data on the PPI can be paused with the Pause button:

and resumed with the Play button.:

Filter

The Filter button gives you an option to only see Data Points within the Alarm Areas.

The Range Lines button allows you to toggle the range lines On or Off:

Mirror

The Mirror button allows you to toggle to a mirror image of the radar data. This is useful if you wish to configure a radar which is upside down.
