Introduction

This section discusses the main aspects of the ClearWay™ Mobile Client display and how to navigate them Schematic and also covers Live viewing and Maintenance Mode.

Info

The behaviour of the ClearWay™ Mobile Client will reflect the configuration of the ClearWay™ application. For example; a user logged into the Mobile Client will have the same permissions as in the main application. Unlike the main Windows application, these permissions cannot be set using the Mobile Client, they must be configured in the main client.

Schematic

This is a simplified diagram of your carriageways in grid form, with each carriageway allocated a row, and each section allocated a column along that row.

...

If the schematic has been reduced in size so that the moving targets can no longer be displayed, then the schematic will highlight sections with a person and/or target icon with the number of these tracks next to them.

...

Live

The Live screen displays the flow of traffic along the carriageways in real time. If the carriageways are configured with separate lanes then these will be separated by white dashed lines. The direction of the traffic is marked using arrows similar to those on the PPI Map.

...

If Traffic Analysis sections have been configured in the ClearWay™ UI (please refer to:Traffic Analysis Plugin) then these will be displayed on the schematic:

...

Live Alarm Panel

Beneath the Schematic area there is a panel to display interactive icons representing live alarm or queue incidents.

In the example below the two icons on the left-hand side show the number of live incidents (12 alarms and 3 queues), and the individual icons grouped on their right then display each incident in time order.

...

Hovering over an individual icon will show the Locate icon and details regarding the alarm. Clicking on an individual icon will synchronise with the map to focus onto that area, providing that the map is selected for the lower display. It will also synchronise with the Schematic to focus on the affected lane/section blocks on the grid.

...

Edit: The pen icon allows you to edit the schematic.

...

Clicking the Save icon will save the changes:

...

Maintenance Mode

Sometimes there may be a situation where a carriageway needs to have road maintenance work carried out within certain sections. If this has been currently configured within the main ClearWay™ application UI, then maintenance mode icons will be displayed on the schematic and the map as in the example below:

...

Please refer to https://navtechradar.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TUN/pages/120258563/Carriageway+Profiles#Changing-a-Section-or-Sections-Operating-Mode for more information regarding Maintenance Mode configuration in the main ClearWay™ application UI.

Schematic Controls

...

The Schematic Controls gives you insight into the speed and density of the traffic.

...

The depth of blue and yellow colours within the segment grows when the level of slow traffic or the density increases. Clicking on the carriageway will open the Carriageway Stats:

...

Playback

When the Playback tab is selected then you will be able to playback tracks from the last 24 hours. Track will be displayed as a moving vehicle / person / track icon in yellow:

...

To playback a track:

Playback Control

...

The Playback Control allows you to select a time by sliding the time button along the timeline:

...

The day / time will be displayed beneath the button:

...

Along the bottom right are the Rewind, Pause, Play and Fast Forward options:

...

Video

The following video shows how to use the Playback feature:

...

User & Role

These fields display the logged in User name and their Role. These fields are static.

...

Logout

To logout of the system click the Logout button at the bottom of the User & Role options:

...

Changing System Profile

It is possible to change the System Profile:

  1. Click on the System Profile button:

    Image Removed

  2. This will open the Change System Profile dialogue:

    Image Removed

  3. Providing you have access, you can then quickly change the Profile as required.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the default lower display on the Mobile Client. It presents graphs showing Incident Alarms, System Alarms, Travel Time and the Average Speed of the traffic along the Carriageways. The graphs should update immediately when new alarms are raised.

...

Incident Alarms

The Incident Alarms donut chart displays the number of incidents that have occurred over the selected period. The chart is broken down into carriageways allowing you to see at a glance how many alarms have been given per carriageway. Hovering over a section of the chart will display a popup with the number of the particular type of incidents on the selected carriageway.

...

System Alarms

The System Alarms donut chart displays the number of system alarms given over the selected time period. Hovering over an area of the chart will display a popup with more information:

...

Travel Time

This graph displays the average journey travel times for each carriageway, at regular intervals during the selected period.

...

You can use your mouse to hover over points along the graph to display a tooltip showing the time, carriageway and average travel time for the journey:

...

Info

If there are no tracks in the section, then this will show a travel time of 0 unless a Speed Limit has been configured, and it will use this value instead. Please refer to Carriageway Profiles for more information.

Average Speed

This graph displays the average speed in m/s for each carriageway, at regular intervals during the selected period. Hovering your mouse over points along the graph will display a tooltip showing the time, carriageway, time and average speed at that point of the journey:

...

Time Period

By default, this display covers 24 hours, but you can also select a period of 1, 48 or 72 hours by selecting the desired time period:

PPI Navigation Control

This allows the choice of a simple or full PPI Navigation Control by clicking on the two small arrows:

Full: The user can also navigate around the map using the pan arrows:

...

Simple: The user can navigate using the keyboard or mouse and return to the origin:

...

You can also use your mouse to zoom in and out, and Click+Drag to move the map.

Info

Double-clicking on particular sections, radar, points of interest etc. on the map will synchronise with the Schematic to focus on that area.

Map Style

...

Traffic Analysis: The top left icon is a toggle to show or hide Traffic Analysis icons on the areas and or sections which have been configured with Traffic Analysis on the carriageway. Please refer to Traffic Analysis Plugin for more information.

There are the following map styles:

Map: The default Google road map.

Satellite: The Google satellite map.

Terrain: The Google terrain map.

...

The example below is using the Google satellite map:

...

The map displays items overlaid upon it in a similar fashion to its counterpart PPI Map on the main ClearWay™ application:

  • Configured carriageways and sections

  • Elements within the ClearWay™ active layer such as radar and POI’s - see Layers

  • Representations of moving vehicles / targets

  • Stopped vehicles

  • Alarms will be displayed as they occur upon the relevant area of the map

In the example below, the Google Road map has been selected. The Live Alarms Panel shows 2 queues and 2 red alarm bell icons, the section of the traffic that has the second queue is highlighted orange:

...

Clicking on a radar will show the boundary of the radar range in pink and will open an info panel displaying the radar name and User ID as in the example below:

...

With the Traffic Analysis toggle disabled, the Traffic Analysis areas and sections will not be displayed:

...

Live Alarms

This panel displays the highway alarms which are currently active. These would typically be triggered in response to an incident that requires a response.

...

These can be sorted by clicking the Sort option within each list:

...

ID: The unique alarm ID.

Description: This displays the classification of the target, the carriageway, section and lane where the alarm was raised.

Created: The date and time the alarm was raised.

Acknowledged: This will show the date and time if the alarm has been acknowledged.

Actions: This will show any actions that can be taken. Clicking on the Locate icon will dynamically move the schematic to the display the affected section of the carriageway centre-screen:

...

Clicking on the Clear Alarm icon will open a Select Clear Time dialog to choose a clear time:

...

This will suppress the alarm for the period requested. It should reappear in the list after that time if it is still active.

System Alarms

This panel displays system alarms which are typically health and configuration alarms. These are only raised if a problem has been detected with the overall operation of the system.

These can be sorted by clicking the Sort option within each list:

...

Alarm ID: The unique alarm ID.

Description: This will list the effected radar, track engine etc with a description of the issue.

Created: The date and time the alarm was raised.
