Introduction
This page covers the installation and configuration of the Echodyne plugin which enables AdvanceGuard® to be uniquely combined with Echodyne's EchoGuard Metamaterials Electronic Scanned Array (MESA) flat panel radar to deliver a high performance and reliable drone detection solution that will operate in all weather conditions and can be configured to meet the requirements of the most complex sites.
The Echodyne plugin is currently experimental and has certain limitations associated with the configuration and operation of the Echodyne panel radars. The next release will provide a production ready integration with full configuration control.

Overview
Witness supports integration with many different types of external systems through the use of plugins.
Drones have created a new threat to critical national infrastructure, with the potential to cause significant operational disruption and reputational damage. To counter this challenge, we are developing a fully automated, high performance, radar-based wide-area drone detection solution. The solution will be capable of continuously monitoring your site: automatically detecting and tracking drones in real-time, in all weather conditions.
The plugin can be selected during setup and will automatically be installed in the correct location.
Prerequisites
The Echodyne Plugin relies on using the EchoGuard 3D Surveillance Radar.

Installing the Echodyne Plugin
When installing AdvanceGuard®, in the Choose Components page of the AdvanceGuard® Setup wizard, open Integration Plugin options and select Echodyne:
Configuring the Echodyne Plugin in AdvanceGuard®
When the plugin is installed and licensed, a plugin configuration with default settings is automatically generated. The settings can be viewed and edited by enabling the Config Function, then selecting the plugin in Integration Configurations, within the Configuration Tree. Configuration settings will then be available in the Configuration Panel.
Echodyne Plugin Fields
Plugin Enabled: Select to enable the Echodyne Plugin.
Name: The Echodyne Plugin name.
Required Confidence (%): This is the minimum level of confidence required before the track is considered to have been successfully classified as a drone.
Drone Sightings Only: Select the checkbox if only sightings above the Required Confidence should be used.
Enable Range Lines: Enables range lines for all visible radar. This feature, when enabled, will draw range lines around the radar.
Range Line Distance: Specifies how far apart the range lines are.
Colour: Select the colour of the range lines.
Echodyne Radars
User ID: This number uniquely links the Echodyne radar to AdvanceGuard®.
Address: The IP Address of the selected radar.
Latitude: The absolute grid reference of the selected radar position to seven decimal places.
Longitude: The absolute grid reference of the selected radar position to seven decimal places.
Name: The name allocated to the selected Echodyne Radar.
Port: The port number of the selected radar.
Connection Timeout (s): This setting defines a time period before the connection between the radar and AdvanceGuard® times out.
Retry Delay (s): This defines a time period for when AdvanceGuard® tries to reconnect with the Echodyne radar.
Sender Id: Numeric Id used to identify this plugin for incoming tracks. This allows track detections passed into AdvanceGuard® via the Echodyne plugin to be identified as having come from this plugin.
Radar Orientation (°): The position of the radar.
Radar Pitch (°): The degree of inclination of the radar.
Radar Range (m): The range of the Echodyne radar. By default this has been set to 2000m.
Radar Field of View (°): The FOV of the Echodyne radars is set to 120° by default.
Position
X (m): Defines the X position of the radar sensor, relative to the origin point.
Y (m): Defines the Y position of the radar sensor, relative to the origin point.
Z (m): Defines the Z position of the radar sensor, relative to the origin point.
Latitude (°): The absolute grid reference of the radar position to seven decimal places.
Longitude (°): The absolute grid reference of the radar position to seven decimal places.
Areas
Shows the area(s) that have been selected to be covered by the Echodyne radar(s). Only targets which are reported in these areas will be displayed in the UI and considered for alarms.
