Once the drive assembly has been removed, you will have clear access to the battery on the circuit board, adjacent to the Ethernet connector. The battery is held in place within the holder either with silicone sealant or a metal clip above the battery. If silicone sealant is present use a small knife to break the bond of the silicone sealant.

Pull the old battery up and out of the holder. Dispose of the battery according to local authority guidelines - do not throw in the general waste.

Battery holder version with upper clip and no silicone sealant.

Insert the new battery from the service kit into the holder so that the side marked + is facing towards the Ethernet connector.

If the battery was previously secured with silicone sealant then use the self-adhesive pads to secure the battery on both sides of the holder.

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations
