Introduction

This page covers the process of installing the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application.

Requirements

To be able to install and use the SafeGuard™ commissioning tool on a standalone Windows device without requiring assistance from Navtech.

Use and deployment of the application should not break or hinder the current SafeGuard™ licensing mechanism.

Enable the user to use the application without any issues or concerns about licensing.

Prerequisites

Currently, there is no specific installer for the client, therefore, some users may need to install .NET runtime before installing the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application.

The .NET runtime can be found here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework and we recommend using the latest version.

You will need to install the files into the Program Files folder and set up shortcuts.

Installation

The latest release is available here: M:\R&D\Boson Dev

To install the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application:

  1. Extract the files to your PC by right clicking on the desired version and selecting Extract All from the drop down menu and choose a destination for the extracted files.

  2. Once the files have been extracted open the extracted folder:

  3. Open the dotnet folder:

  4. Then open Boson.Client.exe:

  5. The following prompt will be displayed. Click on More info:

  6. Next click on the Run anyway button:

  7. The application will then open:
