Static Sensor

Introduction

This page covers the creation and configuration of Static Sensors.

Overview

In addition to using dynamic sensors such as radars, the system can also monitor the outputs of static sensors such as light beams and PIR units. When a static sensor is triggered, an unmoving track is generated on top of the sensor within the user interface graphical representation. If the static sensor lies within an existing area and rule configuration for a radar, then the static track might be suitably handled by the system in the same way as tracks generated by the radar. If not, you can create a small dedicated area which encompasses the static sensor and then apply a simple area movement rule in order to produce the required alarm response.

Adding a Static Sensor

To add a Static Sensor:

  1. Enable the Config Function. Select a entity - for instance, the Static Sensors folder.

  2. In the Configuration Panel, select New, and then Static Sensor.

  3. The Create New Static Sensor wizard will appear in a new window. Name the Static Sensor, then select Finish.

  4. The new Sensor will now appear in the Configuration Tree, and will have been placed in the centre of the PPI. Ctrl+Click+Drag the circular Sensor icon to move the Sensor, or use the co-ordinates in the Static Sensor settings, on the Configuration Panel.

  5. Use the Angle slider in the Static Sensor settings to change the Sensor's direction of view.

  6. After the Static Sensor is correctly positioned on the PPI, configure the Camera Preset - either through the Static Sensor settings in the Configuration Panel, or by Ctrl+Click+Dragging the star icon representing the Camera Preset on the PPI map.

  7. Once in place, select Save.

If the static sensor does not lie within an existing defined area, or the existing area uses an unsuitable rule (such as one that detects movement), create a new area and rule for the static sensor.

Settings

Basic:

Name: The name of the static sensor.

User ID:

Range: Slide to adjust the range of the static sensor's sector of detection along the radii.

Angle: Slide to adjust to rotate the static sensor's sector of detection around the static sensor.

FOV: Field of view - slide to adjust the area of the sector of detection by widening the static sensor's angle of detection.

Hide Arc: Select to hide the static sensor's arc around the sector of detection.

Trigger Id: The Id of the external trigger's input associated with the ADAM-6060 connection.

Layer: Which layer the static sensor is on.

Hide: Select to hide the static sensor on the PPI.

Label Visibility: Select an option to configure the visibility of the entity labels on the PPI.

Colour: Choose a colour for the static sensor on the PPI.

Position

This must match the location of the physical sensor.

X/Y/Z and Lat./Long.: Each new static sensor is initially assigned the default Latitude and Longitude of the installation origin. You can then adjust the X and Y settings to define the offset position (in metres) of the sensor from the origin point. You can adjust the X and Y settings either by typing the offsets into the fields or you can drag the sensor icon to the required position on the graphical representation. The Lat. and Long. values for the sensor position are calculated using the known origin point plus the X and Y offsets.

Camera Preset

The camera preset is a position that a camera will point to when the static sensor is triggered.

X/Y: Adjust the X and Y settings to define the offset position (in metres) of the Camera Preset from the origin point. You can adjust the X and Y settings either by typing the offsets into the fields or you can drag the star icon to the required position on the graphical representation.

Lat./Long.: The Lat. and Long. values for the Camera Preset are calculated using the known origin point plus the X and Y offsets.
