Using Relay Group Settings

Introduction

These settings allow authorised users to activate/deactivate relays from the User Interface. For example, they could allow door access or the ability to turn lights on or off.

They must be used in conjunction with a supported relay device such as the Adam-6060. Please refer to: for more information.

Adding a Relay Group

An authorised user can configure Relay Groups. To do this:

  1. Ensure Config Function is enabled.

  2. Open the System Menu and select Settings to open the Settings menu.

  3. Select Relay Group Settings and Edit:

     

  4. Click on the icon:

     

  5. This will open the Add a new relay button configuration dialogue:

     

  6. Enter the relevant details into the Name and Description fields:

     

  7. Next enter the relay ID of the relay or relays that control the desired relay group to the Relay List.

  8. Click OK:

     

  9. Click Save, and the Relay Group Setting will be saved, and a Relay Group Control (toggle) will appear on the PPI:

     

  10. Repeat the process for other relay groups as necessary:

     

The Relay ID List must be entered as a comma separated list.

Relay Group Controls

Enabling the Relay Group Control

Once the relay groups have been configured, a user with access to the Relay Group Toggle will see a Relay Group Control (toggle) on the left-hand side of the screen.

To enable the control:

  1. Click on the control:

     

  2. The configured Relay Groups will be displayed:

     

  3. To enable a relay group, click on the relay group button:

     

  4. Once a button has been turned on, it’s background will turn blue when highlighted and a green dot will be displayed on the button, as above.

  5. There will also be a notification given that the particular relay group has been toggled on. In the example above the relay group “Lights” has been turned on.

  6. There is a mouse hover tooltip available for each button which displays it’s description.

  7. Clicking on the control again, or away from the buttons will make the buttons disappear from view.

  8. When at least one Relay Group has been activated, the control has a green switch icon:

Disabling the Relay Group Control

To disable a relay group:

  1. Click on the enabled relay group button.

  2. This will disable that relay group and will remove the blue background and green dot:

     

  3. In addition, another notification will be displayed that the relay has been toggled to Off.

  4. Once all of the relay groups have been turned off, then the Relay Group Control will have a white switch icon:

Authorising User Group Access to Relay Settings

Whilst the Admin User Group has default access to the Relay Settings, other users by default are not. To allow access to this feature:

  1. Enable Config Function.

  2. Navigate to User Groups and select the user group that you wish to allow access to the Relay Settings Toggle. View the Configuration Panel:

     

  3. Click Edit and select the Allow Relay Toggle check box.

  4. Click Save. This user group should then be able to view the Relay Groups Control toggle on the UI.
