Upgrade On-Board Tracker

Introduction

Witness ships with the latest version of the On-Board Tracker software. After upgrading to a new version of Witness, it may be necessary to also upgrade the software for each tracker. This section covers the upgrade process.

Prerequisites & Requirements

The Tracker must have access to Port 50022 on the radar network, to allow SSH access.

Upgrading the On-Board Tracker

If an On-Board Tracker requires an upgrade, a message will be given in the System Alarm section:

Here the Tracker ID will be displayed, alongside the required new version number, and the current version number.

  1. The required Tracker Version number will be displayed in brackets after the current version number. To upgrade the tracker navigate to Topology and select Settings in the Configuration Tree:

     

  2. Select the Actions tab:

     

  3. Click Upgrade Tracker:

     

  4. A confirmation message will be shown:

     

  5. Select OK to proceed with the upgrade. After upgrade the Tracker Version number will have changed to the new version:

     

  6. The System Alarm for that radar will have cleared and a status given:

     

This process will need to be repeated for each tracker.
