Introduction
This section covers the necessary hardware, software and general requirements to support the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application.
The SafeGuard™ Configuration Application requires a minimum hardware specification to ensure it runs optimally.
We don't include the prerequisites in the installer for a couple of reasons: firstly they are large and would significantly increase the size of the installer, and secondly, they are updated regularly so we don't want to distribute out-dated libraries as part of the installer. The exception is the .NET Core runtime. This is now incorporated into the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application setup routine and does not need to be installed separately.

Hardware Requirements
You will need the following in order to access SafeGuard™:
A laptop or PC capable of running the latest Google Chrome browser.
The ability to communicate with the radar over the network, including using a suitable IP address on your laptop / PC so you are in the same subnet as the radar.
Specifications
The key considerations are as follows:
Memory (RAM): 8Gb minimum 16Gb recommended.
Network Bandwidth: We recommend a 1000 Mb/s network connection.
Recommended Client Specification
Processor: Intel i5 or equivalent @ 3.2GHz or faster.
Memory: 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended.
Storage: Minimum of 100GB of space.
Network connection: 1Gbps Ethernet link.
Graphics adapter: 3D accelerated card with support DirectX 11 or above. Minimum of 512MB VRAM. An Intel CPU integrated graphics adapters such as an HD 4000 or above will suffice.
Display: Full HD monitor (1920 x 1080).
Software Requirements
Windows 10 / Windows 11
Windows Edition
Please note that when using the desktop version of Windows, the Home edition is NOT supported. It must be Professional or Enterprise.
Supported Browsers
There are two web browsers that the SafeGuard™ Configuration Application supports:
| Browser |
---|---|
Google Chrome | |
Microsoft Edge Chromium (codenamed Anaheim) |
General Requirements
The application is currently designed to only run using 100% scaling in Windows. If the PPI display appears to be showing data out of alignment then please check the display scaling.
We do not recommend using any form of hub or non-enterprise network equipment between the radar and the PC running the software. The radar generates a lot of real time data during configuration, therefore, high quality networking equipment is required to ensure the data is processed and delivered at the expected rate.
The application will work with a laptop track pad, however, we would recommend using a mouse for an optimal experience.
